Senior Care Practitioner – Crisis and Assessment Home
Salary: £34,716 – £36,144
Shifts pattern: 2 on 4 off including sleep ins
Job Overview:
We’re seeking a Senior Care Practitioner for a Crisis and Assessment Home in the Midlands. This role involves providing high standards of care for children who have experienced trauma, ensuring their well-being, and supporting their development within a structured, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children/young people.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of children’s needs in daily practice.
- Manage daily tasks, including quality assurance and regulatory visits.
- Promote structure, boundaries, and routines in a safe environment.
- Lead shifts, ensuring effective planning and facilitation of activities.
- Ensure service delivery aligns with company policies and Children’s Homes Regulations.
- Support therapeutic assessments and stabilize behaviours through high staffing ratios.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to address the needs of young people.
- Prepare and oversee reports for meetings and reviews, reflecting the DDP model of care.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, agencies, and families
Requirements:
- Qualifications: QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in residential childcare.
- Skills: Experience with children affected by complex trauma, DDP, and therapeutic work.
- Licenses: Full UK Driving License is required.
