WHO ARE WE?

About Dimensions Care

Dimensions Care was founded in 2019, knowing how many children’s service providers were registered in the U.K. We had to consider how we could offer a service to children that would give them a better chance of understanding themselves, building self-esteem, and learning to trust adults again.

  • We knew we needed people in the organisation to deliver such a service; we knew we needed a quality approach to our care, and we knew we had to invest in everyone who would be part of the journey in achieving this.
  • We care for children who are in need of a home, a stable environment, and an approach that enables them to flourish.
  • We provide care to children with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs. It is likely that all the children in the home will be vulnerable, and this means we expect all staff to remain particularly vigilant in maintaining their safety and welfare.
  • We are a non-partisan community, and as such, there is no bias towards any political group. Equally, we are non-secular, and there will be no bias towards any religion, spirituality, or faith.
  • We are a service that celebrates and welcomes diversity and cohesion, based upon underlying principles of respect, understanding, and tolerance.

Many of the children in our care will have previously experienced trauma, a sense of rejection, neglect, abuse, and exploitation. We understand that such negative life experiences will impact their presentation and well-being, which in turn may result in a history of challenging or risk-taking behaviours.

Purpose & Values

“To create the most forward-thinking care approach, we aim to develop attachments with our children and ensure that it is embedded in our serving community.”

Our Model of Care

At Dimensions Care, our goal is to create a positive and nurturing environment where children can thrive. We’re dedicated to providing the highest standards of care for children in our custody

We’ve aligned our practices with the DDP (Dyadic Developmental Practice) model, which guides our daily interactions with the young people under our care. Collaborating with DDP consultants, we ensure our team receives the necessary training and resources to integrate this model seamlessly into their work.

DDP offers valuable support for children who have faced trauma, focusing on building strong relationships. Through principles like PACE – Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy – we help our staff provide the nurturing environment these children need to heal. Additionally, we offer tailored therapeutic interventions as needed.

Our approach emphasises positive parenting, combining structure, routine, and love to address underlying emotions rather than just behaviours. We believe that with proper support, children can overcome their early traumas and grow into successful adults.

This model also prioritises the well-being of our staff, ensuring they have the support and resources they need to thrive in their roles. By fostering a culture of self-care and reflection, we empower our team to provide the best possible care.

While residential care poses its challenges, particularly with traumatised children, we believe that by understanding each child’s unique needs, we can help them achieve remarkable breakthroughs and moments of joy.

Wow Moments

At Dimensions, our priority is to bring smiles to the faces of the children in our care. We strive to create unforgettable experiences that they’ve never had before, while also recognising and rewarding them for their individuality. We make it a point to acknowledge their specific achievements and important dates.

Kids Testimonials

At Dimensions Care, the views, thoughts, and opinions of our children are incredibly important to us. We regularly ask them about their experiences and what they appreciate about their homes.

Leadership

At Dimensions, we firmly believe in the importance of leadership as a cornerstone of organisational success and its impact on shaping company culture. Our values reflect this belief, emphasising the integral role of leadership in our operations.

The concept of servant leadership, coined by Robert K. Greenleaf in 1904, embodies our approach to leadership. Greenleaf described a servant leader as one who prioritises service to others and contributes to the well-being of people and communities. In contrast to traditional leadership, which often prioritises the success of the organisation, servant leadership focuses on serving others, sharing power, and prioritising the needs of employees. By fostering personal growth and development among employees, servant leaders ultimately drive organisational growth and success.

Research by Sen Sendjaya and James C. Sarros in 2002 found that servant leadership is practised in some of the top-ranking companies, contributing to their success and high rankings. This leadership style encourages employees to go above and beyond their duties, leading to increased engagement and commitment.

At Dimensions Care, we are committed to cultivating a culture of servant leadership among our employees. We want all members of our team to understand the value of this approach, enjoy their roles, receive support, and have opportunities for personal and professional development. By nurturing servant leaders within our organisation, we aim to promote collaboration, empathy, and positive growth throughout our community.
