Children’s Residential Home Manager – 4-Bed Home
Location: Coventry
Salary: £42,000 – £46,000 per year
On-Target Earnings: Up to £49,500, including performance and yearly bonuses
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional on-call support
Job Overview:
Dimensions Care is seeking an experienced Manager for a 4-Bed Children’s Residential Home in Coventry. In this role, you will lead a team dedicated to supporting children aged 5-17 who have experienced complex trauma. You’ll be setting up a new home, building your own team, and creating a therapeutic environment aligned with the Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) model of care. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will ensure a high-quality service focused on safeguarding and positive outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all operations to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and standards requirements, including:
- Children Acts 1989 & 2004
- Care Standards Act 2000
- Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
- Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018; 2020)
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring they are protected from harm and abuse.
- Implement and embed the DDP model of care across all areas in line with the Statement of Purpose.
- Develop, supervise, and support the staff team, including the Deputy Manager.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
- Oversee budgeting, admissions, discharges, and rota management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Social Workers, CAMHS, and other professionals.
- Coordinate with commissioning partners, LSCB, and Ofsted.
- Facilitate staff training, supervision, and development.
- Maintain the home’s high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
Requirements:

Qualifications:
- Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
- Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or working towards)
- Full UK Driving Licence and business motor insurance

Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with children and young people
- Minimum of 2 years in a senior or deputy manager role
- At least 1 year supervising and managing staff in a care role

Skills:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children and young people
- Thorough understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks, including the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Leadership and human resource management skills
- Proficiency in budget management and service planning
- Knowledge of the DDP model, including the ability to apply Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy (PACE) principles
