Registered Manager Children’s Residential

Location: Coventry
Salary: £42,000 – £46,000 per year
On-Target Earnings: Up to £49,500, including performance and yearly bonuses
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional on-call support

Job Overview:

Dimensions Care is seeking an experienced Manager for a 4-Bed Children’s Residential Home in Coventry. In this role, you will lead a team dedicated to supporting children aged 5-17 who have experienced complex trauma. You’ll be setting up a new home, building your own team, and creating a therapeutic environment aligned with the Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) model of care. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will ensure a high-quality service focused on safeguarding and positive outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operations to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and standards requirements, including:
    • Children Acts 1989 & 2004
    • Care Standards Act 2000
    • Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
    • Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018; 2020)
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring they are protected from harm and abuse.
  • Implement and embed the DDP model of care across all areas in line with the Statement of Purpose.
  • Develop, supervise, and support the staff team, including the Deputy Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Oversee budgeting, admissions, discharges, and rota management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Social Workers, CAMHS, and other professionals.
  • Coordinate with commissioning partners, LSCB, and Ofsted.
  • Facilitate staff training, supervision, and development.
  • Maintain the home’s high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:

    • Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
    • Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or working towards)
    • Full UK Driving Licence and business motor insurance
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with children and young people
    • Minimum of 2 years in a senior or deputy manager role
    • At least 1 year supervising and managing staff in a care role
  • Skills:

    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children and young people
    • Thorough understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks, including the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
    • Leadership and human resource management skills
    • Proficiency in budget management and service planning
    • Knowledge of the DDP model, including the ability to apply Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy (PACE) principles
